The images above are schematic ideas of the layout between all of the buildings. The first image is for the first floor layout. The majority of the space is divided into office spaces and retail spaces. The idea of the retail spaces is to have a separate entrance for each space and have the space that is in between building one and building two be a courtyard area with outdoor circulation. The entrances at the bottom of the picture are for the residents who will live at the site, in this area there are their amenities and leasing offices. The goal for this design was to separate the people shopping and the people who will be living at the site, and the courtyard in the middle will be where they could meet. The second picture is that of the second floor. Seventy five percent of this space is residential. There are more amenities for the residence on the second floor of building two as well.

Oneida Mills

Oneida mills is the last project that I will be doing for my college experience, so I need to bring everything that I have learned so far into designing a multi use space for the residents in Durham NC. This mill will contain commercial,residential and office space. The mill totals about 100,000 sq ft. with a total of five buildings on site. I am wanting to design a space for the residence to bring the town closer together.
